The essentials of what you need for school, and what you'll need in your dorm, if you live in a dorm. You might want a microwave in your room if that's allowed to heat up tea, coffee etc or even meals and that cold pizza.
You don't need every bit of clothing you own to fit all contingencies. Take stuff that's easy to clean, non wrinkle , unless you're taking an ironing board and iron with you, fits the climates you'll be in. Maybe your cd player with some of your favourite cds, you can get some different ones when you go home at christmas, if you go home.
Ask your parents what THEY think you'll need and what they're paying for.

If you have done this before, then you know what was useful and what got in the way.
Keep it to a minimum.
And don't spend a lot of money on expensive decor. College is rough.
