I want to believe that I will see a minority (Black/and or female) in my life time, but from the political atmosphere and the swing of strong conservatism. I find it highly unlikely. If we get a strong, republican black/and or female who can swing at least some of the democratic vote...I believe, (hands clapping) I believe.

Latino maybe he/she could run on a conservative platform. Never would a black person get enough support to get elected. Dr Condi Rice, Gen Colin Powell would not win even if they got the nomination which would a big surprise.

yes Barak obama a dem seems to be being groomed for the role of pres. As for a woman will see in 2008. If not then I don't see any candidates on the horizon or even on the fringes. I don't think condi rice will ever make it she will be tarred with her deep involvement in Iraq.

Assuming that you will live to be about 80 years of age, the answer is no. But it will happen. It will be a male about 42 years of age, he will be black and he will be from one of the northern states. He will be a Democrat, a Lawyer, having served in either the UN or State Department. He will have graduated from Harvard or Yale and studied in London. He will be bilingual. His vice-president will be a woman and likely a minority (Asian).

The minute we curve out of this conservative stint, there might be a chance, but racism and hate are so prevelent right now I doubt it will happen soon. The bush administration has painted everything black & white and it will be hard to fix this quickly.

Condy Rice in 2008. The Republican Party supports qualified minorities, while minorities are Democratic Party poodles.

As long as the person isn't all for one group. If they have a all for one and one for all attitude, then I believe we will. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening soon enough. Personally, I would love to see Colon Powell run. I would vote him in without a second thought.
