Make-up was worn by the Egyptians to enhance their features, especially the eyes because it was believed that you could see the soul through the eyes (off note, I personally think they were onto something there.. lol). Make-up was also worn as a status symbol too. Kings and Queens in Egypt wore tons of eye make-up because of their status.

No thats definately not true make-up is used to accent one's beauty, way too thin to be used to keep faces warm.

I doubt it. Face paint was probably used from the dawn of civilization to enhance appearances. They have even found makeup pots in ancient Egyptian tombs.
