but up to what extent should we go to learn the things that we should learn?

do we really have to learn them, and is it even our choice?

if u think life always moves ahead n straight in a line..u are absolutely wrong...life is a circle...if u dont learn frm ur mistakes now..u will be confronting the same situation time and again..
so the only way out is to learn frm it...
sometimes its like ..we extract some essence frm our mistake but as time moves on..we tend to forget the lessons we learnt..so in this case again..we come across the same situation, and we dont even realise that..'Hey!, i've been thru it once( or may twice or as many times u felt the deja vu effect)..
so learning is in our hands..if we deny to..then its in His hands ..who will make us go through it some or the other way..
SO KEEP LEARNING..N DONT HESITATE IF U FAIL..U WILL GET ALOT OF OPPORTUNITIES TO APPEAR FOR THIS TEST AGAIN N AGAIN...WHETHER U ASK FOR IT OR NOT...LOL

You learn some things because they're genetically programmed, some things by experience, other things by choice.

Genetics. Assuming there are no birth defects, no one has to teach a baby how to suckle a breast or a bottle. The baby comes pre-programmed, ready to eat.

Experience. If you don't look where you're walking, you'll bump into things, trip, or fall. Eventually, experience will teach you to pay attention to where you're going.

Choice. If you want to drive a car, you'll probably need to learn a few things about how to steer, about traffic laws, and so on. You don't *have* to learn how to drive a car. It's voluntary.

In addition, humans and other "higher" animals seem to be born with curiosity about their world. At the most basic level, they want to explore and learn about their surroundings. Initially, that may be genetic. The best minds keep this curiosity throughout life and want to explore more and learn more, with answered questions leading to more questions to answer. Many people will tell you that continual learning is what makes life meaningful. Is that a choice? No one knows.

This is all pretty simplified, of course. Some people may want to learn things but can't because of a distracting environment or a disability. Some people may have special gifts that permit them to learn things almost without instruction or experience (those little piano or violin prodigies). Some people just can't get it, no matter how much they want to or how much they try.

And about learning from your mistakes: Yep. It's called experience. Every mistake is an opportunity to learn. Every so-called failure is an opportunity to get information on what doesn't work.

Thomas Edison was trying to create the source of illumination we now call the light bulb. It wasn't easy. Everything he tried fizzled in his face or didn't even produce a spark. A colleague suggested that Edison should give up. After 10,000 failures with the light bulb, the colleague said, Edison should spend his time doing something else.

"I have not failed," Edison said. "I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Every fault and mistake we've had and encountered in our lives..it is inevitable...no one person has lived without making any mistakes..everybody commits it..and when that happens..we learn from it..it will make us realize things...for us not be doing or committing the same mistakes again...it'll make us better and stronger persons..yes, some mistakes we may have could be our choice..like for some situations or events in our lives we choose it..to do it..to be there..but whether it is a choice or not..we always learn from it..everything bad or good we have done in our lives we always learn something from it..learning always comes with and in anything we do..when and if a mistake happened or happens to you..you will just realize in yourself that you have learn from it..you just learn it..you have learned something out of that experience..that fault..that mistake..if you will not learn from your faults and mistakes..the sufferings and miseries that comes with it will keep on coming back to you..as a result and consequence of that fault..if we keep on doing something that's not doing us any good..or knowing that we've been there and it didn't get us or do us to anywhere good and we still do it..then everything will just keep on..you will keep on doing and experiencing the same bad things repeatedly..doing the same mistakes over and over again..to learn and let go of it is to move on..be strong and better persons out of it..

IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME..I should’ve done good and better..but as the saying goes “EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON”..so I just have to move on…take all the faults and mistakes..everything bad that’s happen..as a challenge..and a reason to do and be better in the present for the future…’coz we do learn from all of it..always be thankful…’coz for every good or bad thing..every mistake..there’s the REALIZATION..

Sometimes it's our choice because we heard that little voice in our hearts saying that's not a good idea and other sometimes tell us not to do something because they've done it and it was all bad, so we can save ourselves from a lot of things if we just listen to our hearts and take heed to the warning signs.

WE ONLY LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES IF WE ACCEPT THAT OUR WAY ISN'T THE ONLY WAY, AND THAT WE ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. WE CAN CHOOSE NOT TO LEARN THAT, AND KEEP REPEATING THEM AND SEEING OURSELVES AS VICTIMS OR MARTYRS. THIS IS AN INDIVIDUAL CHOICE THAT SOME PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE THEY HAVE. IT IS A CHOICE, BUT SOME ARE TOO STUBBORN TO ADMIT IT. TOO BAD FOR THEM.....

If man makes a mistake once he's unlucky, if he makes the same mistake twice he's foolish, however if he makes the same mistake three times he's a total idiot.
