Well, if it comes to it, MacDonalds. I worked there when i was 17. It sucked but i worked the grill and it kept me busy.
Its better to work as a cashier at that age. It will be easier to get a better job if she starts out as a cashier, like at walmart or some other store like that.
Check at the mall or any retail store. She wont have a hard time finding a job at the mall, i dont think. I also used to work at Hot Topic and had an awesome time.

After school is a time when most daycares are looking for people. They don't pay much, but the rewards are great if you like kids. She wouldn't be allowed alone with the kids because you have to be 18, but it is a lot of fun. But at that age if you are flexible there are lots of jobs out there. She may have to take something like mcdonalds or BK til she finds what she really wants, but you're not going to walk into a part time job with no experience making a lot of money. Good luck!

Be proud and supportive. You did it, she's got your genes she can do it. Talk to her and see what she really wants with college. My parents made me go to college right away and I ended up quitting really fast and trying to hide it from them because I couldn't handle the stress of being pregnant and being in school. (I got pregnant like 3 days before I graduated high school and started college in August. I was 17 too, I also skipped a grade) If she wants to go to college now then help her find something that will work for her and just get her going slowly. I ended up going back to school last year (my son will be 5 on Monday) I think I should have just waited in the first place, it would have saved a lot of stress and money. Your daughter doesn't sound like she's stupid. You say she HAD it going for her, she still does. Things could always be worse. Just be there for her and feed her your knowledge.

waitressing is always a good start- especially if she starts at her age, later if she needs another job, she'll already have experience.
gas stations, retail stores, babysitting, lifeguarding, working in group homes with people who are mentally and physically disabled, working in a children's resource home, any food place, working at a front desk in a hotel, housekeeping in a hotel,
she has lots of options, she just needs to apply- the jobs are out there

Have her try applying for fast food, retail, try applying at a grocery store in your area to stock shelves or bag groceries. Go over the basics with her - how to fill out a job application, how to answer questions at an interview.

McDonald's is always hiring. Don't knock it till you try it. I started there when I was 16 and worked there for 7 years. It helped, being so flexible with the schedules and all.

In our area we have something called the human development commison they do a lot for the elderly and the youth in our county is she being picky? if not have her try the local ice cream places, all fast food places, she could also run an ad herself of what she would like to do or house keepingcheck with rehab places and her school counselor the'll get her on her way....

would baby sitting be of any interest to her? i don't think that she would really have a "hard time" finding a job of a kind......or care taker for elderly if she prefers the other extreme. all the best in your daughter's job hunt and i'm sure she's going to get a decent job.
