Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness because I live just down the road from it and it looks fabulous in the daytime and also at night when it is floodlit.

Windsor Castle is the largest castle still used as a residence and the Long Walk has to be one of the best views, although it's my "local" castle, Warwick Castle is very atmospheric too and North Wales has some nice ruined castles which are great to photograph, but my own home in the tradition of every English Man's Home is is castle... is my ultimate favourite!

You should try Carbisdale castle, it is a great place.
It may not be the most spectacular castle in the country but it does have an option that no other does.

Carbisdale castle is 40 miles north of inverness and was donated to the scottish youth hostel association by the heir of the estate.
You can stay in this castle for as little as £14 a night, it has its own bar, statue gallery, bell tower and ghost.

Windsor Castle, I grew up in Slough and quite often went for a walk around the grounds, or at least until they started charging you to go in.
Warwick castle was nice too.

Alnwick Castle. My Grandmother is a decedent of the DeVesey family that lived there in the 1100's. Also because my daughter is a big fan of Harry Potter.

Warwick Castle beyond a doubt!
It's almost all in tact and in beautiful grounds and there are lots of exhibitions and interactive things to do there. Kids love it!
