When I was a kid we played hide and seek a lot and chose the person to be "IT" by : one potato, two potato, three potato, four; five potato, six potato, seven potato, or....
I have no idea what the potato thing was all about - especially the ending! Did you ever use the potato game? What did you use to decide who had to be IT first?

we play "first one to twenty one" ... quite obvious really... everyone sticks however many fingers out that they want into a circle and the counter counts to twenty one on the fingers and whosever finger it is, is it. pretty dumb, but hey, ur only young once. and its quite original.

Sometimes we used the potato song and other times some one would just decide to be it!@

we did that to but also used eni meni miney mo catch a tiger by the toe if he hollas make him pay 50 dollars every day my mom said ur not it
