Well, Bill O'Reilly is often spouting off a lot of poo if you ask me. Security measures can be taken without profiling people through their religion and/or ethnic origins; you just need to be more diligent. For instance, you could look at passengers traveling alone, look through carry-ons thoroughly and smell liquids to make sure they are not flammable chemicals. There are also some simple chemical tests you can perform on liquids to determine what their composition is. Train people to read facial expression and body language through observation and questioning techniques. There are multiple avenues that could be explored rather than jumping to racism which is always based on fear. This country is a very violent place compared to other developed countries in the world and perhaps, as you say, we should focus some of our concerns on developing our social system to prevent such violence.

Rosie is voicing what thousands and thousands of human beings have been thinking approximately considering that 9/11. Too many unanswered questions and inconsistencies. A failing, unpopular president suddently unearths his "Pearl Harbor" and could become a "conflict President." The Neo-cons finally have a reason to invade Iraq. it rather is unthinkable, yet look at history. in basic terms via fact some thing is "unthinkable" does not make it impossible. enable's no longer be petrified of the verbal exchange. that's what's gotten us 8 years of a corrupt administration. Fox "information" and attacking all and sundry who says something by contrast administration. it rather is united states of america of america. we've a remarkable and accountability to ask the complicated questions and seek for the actuality. it rather is not approximately "hating united states of america of america!" it rather is approximately loving it adequate to look at what befell and attempt and locate the actuality. I understand the emotion that human beings sense while somebody says some thing undesirable approximately our usa, yet as quickly as we don't look at it, unscrupulous human beings can wreck out with something! Democracy does not in basic terms take place and human beings in power are not continually remarkable or doing issues for the bigger sturdy. pass Rosie!

If we started racially profiling, especially if we limited it to Arab men between 16 and 45, we would be opening the door to terrorists. Do people honestly think that the terrorists couldn't figure it out and use someone that will get through unnoticed? There was just an article on ABC's blog about how authorities are asking women not to wear gel bras because terrorists could use that to bring explosives.
This is also disregarding the fact that the "American Taliban", Richard Reed, Jose Padilla, TImothy McVeigh, Mussoui, etc. all don't fit that profile.

O'Rile Me's a bufoon .. frankly, he realizes the only way he can garner attention and ratings is by being outrageous, contraversial and irrascable. No intelligent adult takes this guy half way seriously that's for sure - he's not a journalist, he's a hack, a ranter and a punchline to a bad joke. Really this idiot should have stuck to Entertainment tonight or whatever tripe he was feeding the masses before that.
I'm not American - but I am pretty sure that the majority of your decent, normal fellow would be repulsed at such an abhorrant desecration of the most sacred tenets of your Constitution and DOI.
The proposal's preposterous- and anyone with half a brain would realize how slippery a slope that kind of profiling can be...Reminds me of that famous poem regarding the rise of the Nazis by Pastor Niemöller ..
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

You are missing the BIG question.. since this is what Bill O'Reilly says, then it's also what President BUSH says, because Fox Network is just the mouthpiece of the Bush Administration.
People like O'Reilly, and Cavauto and all the other talking heads on Fox are merely the frontline troops for Bush policies... they take a George Bush idea and run it up the flag pole and see who shoots at it.
I'm glad to know for certain, now, that George Bush REALLY DOES think all Muslims are terrorists.

Bill O'Reilly is extremely right-winged. Both extremes (right and left) annoy me. But neither you nor I are in his target audience so don't expect this to change his stance.

Unfortunatley too many people agree with him...........
Someone should remind him of Timothy McVeigh and Ted Kaczynski, or even David Koresh.
