Hi.

As someone who is an experienced Brazilian jiu jitsu and grappling competitor, I would first advise you to take a few grappling lessons, for the sake of avoiding injury to yourself or the person you are wrestling with.

A bear hug is ok, as long as she is smaller and/or lighter than you.

The list of moves you can use to lock someone down, throw them down, or submit them are too numerous to mention.

Look for a mixed martial arts academy, wrestling, or Brazilian jiu jitsu school and get a few lessons under your belt. You will have some basic technique you can safely use.
