Excellent Question: I hope you read this... The term ****** derived from the Southern people's interpretation of the word Negro. It was originally pronounced negra ( nee-gra ). It was butchered by dumber and dumber people til it became ******, and thus, became a word that symbolized a hatred for the black.
The word ****** is supposed to be a stab at the culure of black people in general, in asmuch as the whites who say/said the word have/had no good intentions....the word is as harmless as sugar in an automobile tank. Speaking from experience, the word is a slap in the face of educated white people everywhere. Webster defines ****** as being a cheapscate, which is moreinline with whites than blacks........

Of course there's a difference and it's a valid question.

N I G G E R as a term, derogatory as it may be, is only really applicable to black people having ancestory coming from around the horn of Africa (Niger, Nigeria, Liberia etc.) where the black slave trade was strong. The term isn't restricted to American use; the Brits also use the term, though for them it came into being somewhat differently.

For example calling an Aboriginal Australian a N I G G E R is just plain stupid because they're about as far flung from West Africa as you can get (as your on the Australian questions only site I figure you know this).

Well the other difference is that N I G G E R as a term is insulting nowadays in almost any context where as "black person" is generally more neutral.

What you need to do is to re-arrange the question and ask, "What's the difference between a ****** and an intelligent person?" Now you are able to be a little more objective. When you ask a question like that, you have just said that "n's" and intelligent people have no definitive color line. A "n" is just a PERSON with no intellectual background; while an intelligent person is...well, you know rest. Now, quickly, go look in the mirror and tell me what you see?

A black person has an education, a career, speaks intelligible english, doesn't think society owes him everything. A ni**er on the other hand is just a lazy, uneducated, parasitic, welfare recipient who would rather ***** and complain and blame 'the white man' for their social position despite being give EVERY possible opportunity to get an education and become a productive member of society.

i do not see the difference but just different words... i do not know the word any more that people use...i just say black people...i live around them and my niece has two mixed children...i would never of wanted that but we can not make a our family date or marry who we want....but i think saying a black person is just a nice way instead of saying ******....there is good and bad in every race....i think some may have misunderstood something i am saying...i do not know what to call a black person..but i have no prejudice against any race...i think , like i said before there is good and bad in every race..we are all children of god i believe...
