What are you doing to end the hate?

Question

Islam is a peaceful religion I am told and am more then willing to believe. Obviously those killing and murdering in the name of Islam are full of hate.

I see a growing amount of hatred here on these questions and answers towards people of different political views. Its really sad and especially when it comes from people who's political views are suppose to be one of sincere tolerance.

So; conservative or liberal; what are you going to do to end the hate? Or are you going to let it get worse and eventually lead us into the kind of divide that plagues Islam today?

If a person makes a choice to hate there is little you or I or anyone can do about it. How much do you really know about Islam and it's history. If the radical branches of Islam have their way the Crusades and the Spanish Inqisition will both look like picnics in the park. Islam a religion of peace? Tell that to all those who have died at the hands of murderous morons who bought the line that if you die killing others needlessly you will go to heaven and get 72 virgins. Islam can prove itself by purging itself of it's radical wing, but right now I hear precious few Islamics stepping up and admitting they have a problem within their religion. Until they choose to become part of the solution they are part of the problem. It's as simple as that.

As for the issue of different political view that you raise, I have friends on both sides of the line (I'm essentially a moderate with both liberal and conservative leanings depending on the issue involved). Unfortunately more and more I see the left, the ones who call themselves liberals (look up the definition and you will find they are nothing of the sort) resorting to throwing out logic and injecting emotion through use of things like racism, class envy and other tactics designed to make people act without thinking.

Let me as YOU a question: If someone has to use emotion rathre than logic to get you to back them, what is wrong with this picture?

The problem is that we see all the terrorism being commited against us (who happen to be islamic), but are blind to the terrible acts we commit on other countries.

The TRUTH is that these 'extremists' have political agendas, their religon doesn't have much to do with it. The Bush administration uses religon as a means to create hate and paint everything black and white. Its easier to kill someone when you've been told that they want to kill you and your way of life.

Look at why we were attacked on 9/11, the bush administration made wild claims that they were trying to take over the world with islam, but in reality they were attacking us because of our foreign policy. Al Queda, the 9/11 commission, the fbi, cia, nsa, all claim political reasons for the attack, even Bin Laden himself on numerous tapes.

To many are victim to the lies in this country...smitty031 being one of them...
