my last period was july 9th. i was supposed to get my period august 6th. on august 2nd and 3rd my husband and i had intercourse and i proped my legs up after (because we do this everytime because we're trying to concieve) and everything. then i missed my period, and on the 11th i started to get some brown spotting. i took a pregnancy test on the day of my missed period and on the 12th and they came out negative.
is there any way i might have ovulated late, when we had intercourse, and i could have gotten pregnant then, and then i missed my period, and implantation bleeding occured on the 11th?
i don't feel pregnant, but im wondering if this may have been why the HPT was negative, because i took it too early? i want to take another, but i'm sick of looking at them and getting my hopes down! need some advice. thank you!

Everyone's cycle is different. There is a myth that woman ovulate 14 days after their period begins...but that is only an AVERAGE and each month can be different. The other thing is that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days.... so if you are having a shortened cycle one month and you have sex right after your period and you ovulate earlier than day 14 than yes, there is a chance of getting pregnant. They only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything....it will help you in so many ways!

Chances of conceiving are usually 14 days from onset of your period. You should have been ovulating around the 22nd of July, but is sounds like you had period about 5 days late. The math says you were too late on the 2nd & 3rd, as even if you were 5 days late and you push the ovulating up 5 days-that would make it around the 27th you ovulated. Your best chances are to relax as you sound quite anxious......sounds like you could ovulate around the 24th of this month if your spotting on the 11th was a period. You might have taken the test WAY too early...I would wait at least 3-4 wks from when you should have had a period, that way you aren't wasting your $ due to high hopes. Good luck...relax....it has been known to happen when people least expect it and aren't trying so hard.

take another test. There is a chance, but not a good one.
I have to say, if you are TTC, having sex 3 days before your period is NOT the right time to try... You need to do it about the midpoint between your periods. Since ovulation can vary, you give yourself at least a week or so.

if the spotting was indeed implantation then you wouldn't get a valid test result until like today.. I would say take one more test and if it's negative call your doctor about your cycle being messed up, there are medications you can take to start your period (Provera) so you can move on to the next cycle.

You need to go to the doctor and have a blood test done. Chances are you're in early pregnancy and your body isn't producing a lot of HCG yet. (It happens.) A blood test is a pretty concrete answer.

You may be pregnant! The possibility about the test coming out negative depends on the hcg levels. I suggest purchasing Clear Blue pregnancy test, works great. If still negative please see a doctor.

Sounds like it's a possibility, take another test then see your doctor. There is such a thing as a false negative on a pg test. good luck!

If you took a pregnancy test right after & it came out negative that does'nt mean that your not pregnant, Wait a few days & try it again or go see your obgyn, they will take a blood test.

most probably not, my personal advice to you would be stop having intercource just for the sake of having babies, this puts strain on your psyche and thus decrease chances of conception, let the entire thing be natural, and let mother nature bear you the fruits of your love. ALSO take rest for this month, then do the tests and then go ahead.
god bless
