don't try proactiv, i tried using it for about 6 months and didn't see a diffrence in my skin, in fact, my skin became worse.
i have mild acne and have come up with some great home-remidies.
put some hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball and trail it across your face, especially your t-zone area (forehead, nose, chin) to control oil production. it doesn't burn or sting at all like some products can, and your skin will feel SO clean!
i use OXY facewash. $7 at any drugstore. it's 10% benzoyl peroxide - the same amount that is usually put in fast working spot treatments.
i also use clean & clear vanishing ance gel (the kind that promises to clear up your skin in three days) $8.
so try those products out!
also, take a vitamin supplement with 100% of the daily value of vitamin c and a, as well as zinc. the vitamins a & c will help clean out toxins which can trigger acne breakouts, and helps to repair your skin. zinc helps to keep down inflamation. and remember, WATER! haha, if you drink enough every day you'll see a great improvement in your skin.

I had severe acne in high school and after several failed treatments, I tried Accutane and it cleared it up. I never had acne again not 10 years later.

I like all the stuff by Clean and Clear, especially the cream facial scrub. After I started using it, I had almost no acne problems (I'm most likely way older than you, but my daughters use it as well and they have great skin).
