I got him/her today from petsmart for my other yellow lab that was by himself. They seem to be in love with each other! I don't just thought i would share this. lol!!

Mbuna such as yellow labs are social fish and do better in groups than in solitary settings. However, while things may work out in the beginning aggression will increase as the fish grow. It'll be interesting to see if they still 'play nice' when they reach 4".

Typically they don't do well in pairs (4+ is a better quantity).

The male will have "egg spots" on his anal fin and will be more brightly colored. Females do not have this and will be slightly less colorful. Have fun with it! African cichlids are excellent parents and are mouth brooders, meaning that mom will keep her newborn fry in her mouth! If you notice this behavior it would be wise to put a tank divider in so that she can get some rest!
