You can buy a new CPU, but it must use the same socket type.

If the game has 3D graphics, you can also try to purchase a faster graphic card compatible with your video slot.

You wouldn't be able to over-clock your PC by 1Ghz. The only other avenue you have is a hardware upgrade. If you have a custom built PC you could upgrade the mobo, CPU and RAM and keep your hard disk and CD/DVD drives. Otherwise you would have to buy a new system. Keep in mind certain specs though when looking to upgrade: CPU speed should be no less than 3-GHz, since this will provide room to grow. Go Hyperthread or at best Dual-Core. For your video card get one with at least 256MB of DDR (preferred is 512MB or better). You won't be sorry.

Without upgrading, you could overclock your processor. The danger to overclocking is possibly overheating your CPU, which can cause a meltdown.

I just don't think you'll be able to play a game that requires a full Ghz more than you have, and if you can, it will be very....very........slow.

Replace the processor and system board - which for a PC that old would probably cost more than a new bottom Dell desktop that would be more than powerful enough to play the game. So practical answer is buy a new PC.

You'll need a whole new computer ! A 1.8 Ghz CPU won't work on your motherboard. You can only pump it up so far. Sorry.

Buy a new prossecor and maybe update some other parts of your computer while you're at the store, more memory things like that, they make the game go a lot faster, and look better.

You need a processor upgrade. Considering you only have an 800mHz machine, the most cost effective option is to simply buy a new computer.
