With crutches the same day. Probably a week after with a cane, then walking and you can exercise again in a month or two. They are taking tissue out so there is nothing that needs to heal much besides the incision. If you had a reconstruction then it would take a lot longer.

Hi
It really depends on what they do in there. If they repair the meniscus recovery will be a lot longer. If they just remove the torn bits you *could* be good to go in 6 weeks. It takes a couple days to lose the crutches and then it's a matter of getting ROM back and rebuilding muscle.

Hope u could recover soon

Someone I know just had that surgery done a few days ago. She was back at home the next day using a machine that bends the knee an appropriate amount to assure her of getting full range of motion back again. She's driving down for college tomorrow - while she'll be on crutches for quite a while, she's fully mobile. Good luck to you!

I've had 12 of these. You'll probably be walking the same day, but you may have to wait weeks or months to get into more strenuous activities.
