Probably because Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons, supported the attack on Isreal, basically tries to offend every neighboring country, has taken US civilians hostage, and has stated quite recently that they need to end the American empire. Not to mention the fact that the Iranian leader is attempting to convince his people that the holocaust is a myth. Is that enough reasons?

It's not the people of Iran that are the problerm - it's their government. Iran is at least as bad, if not worse, than Saudi Arabia in terms of their support and encouragement of terrorists and the amount of money they invest in destabilizing matters and supporting radical Islamic fundamentalism. In both countries the logic is that if they keep creating external demons the people will be too busy & distracted and won't look at the demons running things at home.
Iran needs to seriously overhaul their government - oust and imprison the mullahs and that nutbag president of theirs. Stop pursuing nukes. The people of Iran, hopefully, will grow tired of the system they are currently suffering under and will start the process themselves. But it is a difficult thing to do.

They used to be the best of friends when the Shah ruled. When the Shah was overthrown and the USA embassy was taken over the relationship went way downhill. The US and Saddam were actually allies against Iran so that left a bad taste in the mouth for many Persians.

what I am saying is only my opinion. It may not be an answer either to the question.
The countries which call Iran part of an axis of evil have gone and attacked / invaded other countries. In my time atleast , I have never known Iran to attack another country , let alone occupy a foreign land. Iran - Iraq war was brought to Iran , I think.

Iran is a little turd in a big cesspool. They want the Islamic world to see them as the true believers and bearer of some sacred torch. They resent the way Saudis have profited in their "moderate" relationship with the western world and would like nothing more than to control the Islamic nations for their own twisted ideological purposes.

It seems like a good idea, but they will never be happy with Israel in the picture. Have any Muslim countries offered to give up land for the Palestinians? Iran is a pretty big country and could easily give up land to their Muslim brothers.

Well if our government (Jimmy Carter) supported the Shah of Iran and helped him oppose the Khomeini revolution, we would have a very strong ally, and I could go to one of the best ski resorts in the world.

Iran is contemptuous of the US. They are not "begging" for friendship with us. For crying out loud - they elected a president who was one of the kidnappers of the US hostages in 1980! Their president is a hater!

Iran does not want Israel, nor the U.S. to exist. They are bent on destroying us both.
Just because people are from saudi, does not make them spokespeople for them. The saudi's openly denounce those terrorist actions. Iran does not, they support terrorist actions.
