At peak season a hamburger cost the better part of $20. Is it worth paying this kind of money because of the added benfit of the spectacular view?

its totally worth it, think of how many times you might have paid 20 bucks just to go to some touristy thing, or 10 bucks for a movie, its worth it

How funny, I was just reading the menu for Sky City. We are thinking about visiting Seattle in October. I was there as a child and ate at the Space Needle but I certainly do not remember the food or menu. I am willing to pay good money if the food is worth it....however I know those prices are marked that high because of the views. You are paying for the whole experience.

I and most of my friends don't think so. The food there isn't just expensive, it's also not that good. If you want to eat somewhere with a good view and good food, try lunch at the Pink Door. The view of the bay from the balcony is really spectacular, the food there is excellent, and the prices are reasonable.

Never ate there, went there, durring the Worlds fair. My father said it was too expensive to eat at.

If you have money to throw away, or just want to say you did it. Perhaps you could go up, sit down, then protest the prices, and leave. Lots of fun.

Just go for some drinks at the bar. Visit the observation deck. Save your appetite for later.

Yes it is. You are paying for upkeep on the building. And it is a heck of a view.
