Well the truth is , you should never read anything about someone , private things, imagine if they wrote something personal ,

it could be about , their health feeling s , feelings for someone, even if it the person whos reading it and it was a load of hate, still shouldnt read,

but , if you read someones diary , you have to make a promise to yourself that you read it, your never going to tell them that you read it , and never tell anyone else,

I had a really good freind at college, and she had a real nice diary
so I said to her if I could look at it, and she said no, and while she werent looking , I quickly read what she wrote, and it had that she smoked , I got shocked, and hated these two people , understandablly but never really told me that she hated them that much ,she turned her head and I quickly shut the diary and she saw, and goes did you read, I go no, and thank god she believed me, but I never , ever asked , if she smoked , and I knew it, even as I friend I felt like telling her she shouldnt but I didnt, because I shouldnt be reading her personal life in the beginning ,

so they are many reason why you shoulnt read , because you might find out about something , and it can be quite hard then to say to them , if you do say to someone oh I read your diary you lose your trust for good in that person , thats why I said before never even mention you read it, unless your read it and tell them and break up the friendship for good,

my sister gave me her diary to keep , because she got married , and had personal things , I read it then , but never said to her any of the things that were in their , and I knew why she gave it to me , as it had some guys that she liked written on it, so her husband wouldnt know, about it because she was married now , so gave the diary to me, and me never , ever write persona things about my life , just keep them in the mind , so actually I do that, I never wirte about personal things , personal life is a secret a must be kept a secret its a moment which you keep private for no one else to know about your real self

Absolutely not. That is completely wrong. Privacy is an important human right. I respect my friends human rights and would not violate them in this way.

If I read the diary I would feel like a treachorous and evil person for the rest of my life.

Was it left intentionally? You never know. If you want to instill trust with that person, return it and say "I found this, but I did not think it appropriate to read it". Then you will have gained a friend instead of lost one.

No I would not. I would not want to invade my friend's privacy, or risk the possibility of losing my friend by reading their diary.

Absolutely no way would I ever do that, that is the lowest of the low, its horrible, invasive and hurtful, somethings are just too personal to share with even your closest friend.

I once read my daughters diary when she was depressed and discovered she was suicidal. So yes if you are very very concerned, no if its just curiosity.

i have to say that I would read it. I also would probably end up telling on myself by sticking my foot in my mouth to that person so i'd have to tell them right off that I read it. Ofcourse I'd swear that I'd never tell a soul about what was in it---and I wouldn't.
