Alot of players you see in the HOF, didn't even make it to 10, because in the older days, it was too common for players to play pass 30 - 32. Most players (especially WRs and RBs, all-pro players) were usually already out of the league.
Great backs like Sayers, O.J., and Campbell didn't make it 10 and were first ballot hall of famers.
Personally, I don't think a player needs to play along time to be great, alot of players would still be great even they played less than 10 seasons.
