The famous Clinton "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" statement was true. Clinton was crafty no doubt; but it was a well researched response and not a lie technically.
Washington DC does not recognize oral sex as a relationship. So the White House is in the DC Circuit and subject to DC rulings.
If he had Monica under his desk in Arkansas, Al Gore would have become President and most likely lasted until 2004. That means Bush would not have been appointed President by the Supreme Court.
But what if only works in fairy tales.

Come on! Are people really still concerned with this? The way I see it, he was acting on the instincts that all humans possess, which is to protect yourself and your family. Lying is wrong, especially to a Grand Jury and the citizens you lead. But,let's be honest, all politicians lie. And in the grand scheme of things, that particular one wasn't all that big and had no major effects on our countries well being.

Your sexual tastes and alliances are your personal business. This ought to be the case whether you are President or a Pauper.
Plus he never lied. It is all a case of definition. Personally, I don't think a BJ is having sex. So as a Juror on the Grand Jury I would have had a dissenting view.

Bill Clinton had a reputation and a family to protect. Being human, his initial reaction was to lie because his reputation and family was more important.
I was surprised to hear that he lied, but never was angry about it. Whatever he did with his *personal* time is his own business and had nothing to do with the fact that he was a good president.

you seem to have fallen into the libs' trap of "Do as I say, not as I do."
After reading some of the other answers, which trivialize the event, I wonder if the women who voted for Clinton realize how far back he set the 'women's movement'? If Monica Lewinsky was a friend or relative of yours, you would be outraged at how he took advantage of her. If Clinton was the CEO of a major corporation and Monica was his assistant, you would be outraged. Oh, but Clinton was a Democrat, so it makes it ok. You people make me sick!

They had no right to ask him about this trivial, personal matter. Usually when there is a stupid privilege given to the Court, there is a silly way around it. So Clinton got a legalistic interpretation whereby fellatio is not sexual relations, since sex is related to procreation, etc. In other words, your silly doubletalk about perjury is answered by a silly exception to perjury.

He was "so cute". Even the men who voted for Clinton thought he was "so cute".

Uh, no. At least there were actual grounds for which Clinton could have been impeached as opposed to these liberals who scream for Bush's impeachment on grounds of ....... nothing.
Good question - sorry that I have no answer other than it was just so ridiculous that he put that image of the fat intern, the cigar and his **** in our heads we were laughing to hard to respond. Sad
