Oh geez, you should've paid attention in biology. Animals and plants do not have similar reproductive cycles. Animals perform sexual reproduction (two parents) and plants perform asexual reproduction (one parent). Plants perform mitosis which is basically cell reproduction by starting with one cell. Animals (including ourselves) do both mitosis and meiosis, meiosis (I'm not getting into detail, you should search it up) takes place with two cells, and only occurs when the female gets pregnant (unless they're fish and other invertebrates, female fish release their eggs while male fish release their sperm, which makes up to be an. odd chance for pregnancy).

You can't really decide how many children are born into a family because as human beings, and for other mammals, pregnancy is still a rather rare chance. If you want to have children, try having sex two and a half weeks after your girlfriend's/wife's/lover's period. If you have children and want to limit that amount, then just use birth control (that includes protection).

If you mean twins (or triplets and so on), the female can sometimes ovulate (release) two (or multiple) eggs at the same time which results in fraternal twins if both eggs are fertilized. Identical twins can result in when an egg is released, and when fertilized, performs mitosis to have identical eggs. If you are a twin (or triplet and so on) that gene within you is dominant, even if twins have never shown up in the family tree before. If you have an older/younger sister or brother (that's not a twin), and despite you being a twin, if twins have never shown up in the family before, that sister or brother is unlikely to have twins because it is a recessive gene in their body.

About the plants, although most perform asexual reproduction, some plants do perform sexual reproduction, but many of those plants are "male" and "female" by themselves. Some do budding, where the new organism grows off of the parent (like hydra). Sponges have gemmules that are internal buds, so that they can release a specialized amount of cells where they can become offspring. Some sponges bud too. There's also regeneration which occur in starfish, If you cut off a leg, they will grow it back. But if you cut somewhere near the middle, where it's head/brain is, the cut starfish will grow into two (or three if you cut it into three pieces). There's also fragmentation where the parent breaks it's body into several pieces and those pieces become offspring.

Hope that helped, I'm only in high school =P.

Reproduction in plants can happen two ways but it usually involves a male and female part, just like in animals. Some animals can also do a thing called budding which they can do by themselves. So yes they have similar reproductive cycles. You can somewhat decide how many children will be born in a family by deciding to have children or not and useing birth control, or even fertility treatments. There are no guarentees with children, such as there could be twins or triplets but most families use family planning methods to help keep their families a manageable size. For animals you can get them fixed so that they cannot have babies but they also can be for breeding, but the size of the litter can and will varry.

Plants and animals can both reproduce sexually or asexually; the form and cycle of that reproduction depends on the species. You can see examples of this just by observing the world around you: the flowers blooming, the baby birds cheeping, caterpillars munching, tiny lizards basking...most plants and animals go through a cycle wherein ovules are produced/become receptive to fertilization by sperm. Often, that's once or twice a year to take advantage of seasonal food sources (or in plants, in response to temperature/photoperiod--which is a plant's seasonal food source). Additionally, there are two general strategies: "r" and "k." In one, many offspring are produced rapidly with little investment in their survival; in the other, few offspring are invested in heavily (think, say, of spiders hatching from an egg sac; and elephants taking a couple years to be born, two more before weaning, and another ten to reproduce, all the time with mother). Many mammals are reproductive nearly year-round: female cats, dogs, rodents, humans become receptive soon after they've had offspring, which is why their populations can boom so quickly. Of course, some fruit flies are born pregnant, so we've got nothing on them.

But if you mean "we" as "society" deciding for the individual, most people would be uncomfortable giving up that decision. With education, economic opportunity, and the right to make decisions for their own bodies, most women choose to have fewer children; so if society wanted to decrease the birth rate they could focus on
women rights...

cyn1c4l, go back to class.

plants reproduce or produce seeds every year animals of different species breed often in a year. a doe deer cycles 3 times during the rut on the other hand rabbits have 3 to 4 litters a year. man and woman can breed all year long but will have one child every 9 months according to mds.we are animals. or mammals if you like.all living things either propagate reproduce or get impregnated

Yes, both plants and animals use fertilization to reproduce, with the excetion of those than can propagate through asexual reproduction or are hermaphrodites. And yes birth control can be used to decide how many kids you want to have.

cyn, you may want to pay more attention in biology. Most plants reproduce sexually. Even plants that self-fertilize have sexual reproduction, producing by meiosis male and female gametes. Only certain species reproduce asexually by apomixis. This can be fould both for male and female plants, but for male plants it is exceedingly rare.

Well we cannot generalize the 1st part of ur question.
Plants produces both sexually and asexually.
When it comes to animals it is mostly sexual reproduction.
Certain unicellular org produce asexually (eg. budding)
There are certain higher org that reproduce asexually, they basically have male and female repr organs within the same organism.
As far as ur second part of ur question is concerned- Yes we can definitely find out the number of offsprings born.

No, a plant goes through cross or self poliation in which there is fertilization. However, plants produce seeds and there is no cycle.

well i definately wasnt born perfect, i was born a sinner like everyone and well i decided to be serious with God about 2 months ago. To tell you the truth it hasnt been easy, but its been worth it. I know that with all pain and suffering ill expirience for the cause of Christ will result in eternal life in heaven. See God is like a baker and we are like dough, He shapes us in the way he wants us to be and sometimes we have to go through fire, to develop the character that God wants us to have. With this said, i wish you an awesome day, Thanks for asking this question, God Bless
