She's calling all the poets
Young and old alike
The younger bound on heel
The older opt for bike

To chase the girl most fair
With peanut butter hair
Proportioned like a pear
And lad-seducing stare

But no one hears her sigh
It seems the world is deaf
So she whispers goodbye
And breathes her final breath

And thus is womanhood
With eyes of manic grief
Submerged for now and good
In an enchanted reef

The International Band of Poets is a scam.
Everybody who enters a poem gets "Honored" with an invitation to a convention, which costs thousands of dollars and does nothing for your poetry writing career.
Anyway, here is one I wrote awhile back, hope you like it.
Surreal Illusion
The moon is high in a cloudless sky,
as dreams of passion dance in my minds' eye.
My lover and I are on a romantic stroll,
through a starlit, magical knoll.
We pause to share a fiery kiss,
and collapse in a tangle of erotic bliss.
Our bodies move to a timeless beat,
warmed to the core by lovers heat.
Sparks explode in a surreal illusion,
as we make our coccoon away from intrusion.

The next time I see you may be the last....
My divisional love, from a requited past....
Hindrances shown, perplexing the view....
A rose is still a rose, and then there is you......
Intent on the moonlight showers beneath me
Grows the effervescent denials of truth.
Wanting yet pleading, yearnings left needing....
All the victories nonetheless lost in the quagmire of the morning's star.
Due me this moment, yet this hour I pray,
Your love reside and resound today....
Wanton fervor excels within delight
If God Almighty smiled,
And made you mine tonight.

You think of him as Romeo
yourself as Juliet.

You picture that once great love scene
that your mind has set.

With emotions high and unleashed passion
two wayward souls unite.

What sweet release, what satisfaction
to know this love is right.
