It seems to be stuck near the windscreen aqnd if i force it i'll bend the bonnet, has anyone come across this, I don't think it's been knocked and it has been opened before

You may want to check the release cable. It could be jammed or broken.

You'll have to take it to a garage I'm afraid- the cable connecting the inside lever to the bonnet mechanism has most likely snapped.

This happened to My Nissan Micra last year. Basically they had to force the bonnet open with a crow bar (without breaking it) and then replace the cable. This should cost no more than £50 all in

get a friend to push down on the bonnet at the same time you pull the lever this works most times. when open check to see if cable needs to be adjusted and oil well it may just be lack of use.

check the cable it might have snaped
