It seems to be stuck near the windscreen aqnd if i force it i'll bend the bonnet, has anyone come across this, I don't think it's been knocked and it has been opened before

You may want to check the release cable. It could be jammed or broken.

You'll have to take it to a garage I'm afraid- the cable connecting the inside lever to the bonnet mechanism has most likely snapped.
This happened to My Nissan Micra last year. Basically they had to force the bonnet open with a crow bar (without breaking it) and then replace the cable. This should cost no more than £50 all in

that's meant to take place. there's a secondary "protection capture" below the front part the place you have got here upon you may get your palms in. experience around for it, there will be somewhat lever you the two depress or push sideways. the belief is which you have one greater line of defence against the bonnet bobbing up whilst you're shifting. do no longer complication, it is not a stupid question, in case you knew the respond you does no longer have asked . . .

get a friend to push down on the bonnet at the same time you pull the lever this works most times. when open check to see if cable needs to be adjusted and oil well it may just be lack of use.
