What if we're all lying to ourselves in the world. Think about it. If someone on Yahoo Answers posts a question or answer that sounds remotely "racist"---the whole world appears to cry foul. But yet, we are the same people who judge others and stereotype different cultures in our daily lives. Sure, sterotyping and racism are two different things, but stereotyping can be a very large part of racism.

Nice insight, people are frail and cowardly..
Racism is alive and well........
Look at the Middle -East....
The racial profiling that people all have hard wired into them.....
If a person looks different, talks different, or appears to be rocking our "peaceful"boat they are singled out and demonized for all the ills of the world....
Racism is a sad statement on humanity ......
We can't seem to be able to live together in peace or harmony........
Stereotyping is a HUGE part.....you are right on again.......
People can't seem to figure it out........
Sad and true..... We will not fix this problem any time soon....There is ALWAYS a group or groups that cannot seem to get that we are brothers and sisters , a huge FAMILY OF MAN.......

Yes it does. The only difference is between now and a few decades ago is that now racism is broadcasted the way it was back in those days and some people forget that racism still exist. Some people even pretend it does not exist even though it does. The reason so many people call a "foul" whenever we call someone out on racism is because many persons in this day and age do not want to hear about it, sometimes to hide their own racism.

Stereotyping is sometimes a part of racism, but it is not necessarily a sign of racism. Anyway, yes. Racism still exists. And not everyone here is complaining when someone posts a racist comment. As a matter of fact, some people do post those comments, don't they?

Racism exist.

Culture is not racism, that is discrimination. Racism deals with the nationality and the biological differences. Cultural is the upbringing. An caucasian born in US can discriminate another white British born man. That is background differences but not physical difference.

And racial stereotyping and racism is separated by a fine line, and may not be different in most case.

I dont think its relevant to separate stereotyping and racism.
The root of both is a flaw in thought:
If you come from "X" and the people that hurt me come from "X" then you want to hurt me too because you are all alike.

However..... there's a twist.

Occasionally a people DO behave similarly as a symbol of solidarity and personal conviction. Most modern terrorsts are Arab males between sixteen and thirty - better than 80% of them.

As bad as profiling is - wouldnt it be foolish to not approach such men with grearter caution?

I believe that racism exists. It seems to be a natural phenomena; having a preference of one race over another, particularly ones own. It's probably part of our social and genetic heritage as social animals.
Discrimination also exists and that is a serious problem for a democracy.
There are also hysterical anti-racist bigots who over dramatize and misinterpret insignificant events for personal gain.

Anyone who would ask such a question clearly has lived such a privileged and insulated life that one wonders why you would dain to speak to the rest of us. Racism is alive and well, not only in most American's hearts, but also in almost all of America's institutions.

I think racism will always exist. Just like thieves, drug users, child abusers, etc. To be a racist is sin just like the other things I mentioned. And sin will be around until the second coming of Christ.

Well I do understand your point, and you have a valid one at that! If you click on my name, look at some of the questions I have answered, I think people on this website are joking about it, it is funny to a point. But I think you are serious and I will tell you that no matter what anyone says or does neither of these issues will ever go away, we are human
