Easier Life if you were a different Race?

My Friend Lorena who is Mexican says that life would be so much easier if she was white..but she always give weird answers like, You can't be president if you were a different race aside from white because white people would never vote for you. She also says that she could get better jobs. She said all races feel this way...is that true?

Honestly, I think most races do think life would be easier if they were White - but I don't think that's true, in my humble opinion as a Black American. If you are poor and white you can forget about anyone caring about you – and that is not the case for poor people of any ethnicity. Also, if you are just a regular white person – there are so many other white people just like you that you’d face a very high level of competition. 80 +% of this country is White which equals quite a lot of folks.

And at this point, there probably could not be an ethnic president but, I think it is because whites tend to think that an Ethnic person will be more interested in only helping other Ethnics instead of helping everybody, including them, to make a better country – which would mean less than 20% of the population would benefit and that is not a comfortable thought. Now, with Ethnic people being prominently displayed in high political office these days, I see that things are changing…maybe we could see a brown skinned president in our lifetime.

Tell her that things will change in around 100 - 150 years ... because so many Mexicans are making babies, and white people's babies are getting less and less in the United States. Maybe one day in the future a Mexican can become President.

well naw i don't feel that way because no matter your race if you are a good representative of the beliefs of your ppl of course you will have suppoters i mean but we must face it the world is always easier 4 our fellow white ammericans but we shouldn't let that hold us down.

she's correct... white is easier in america. too much racism, racial profiling, and discrimination against people of color
