I was just wondering if it would be possible to develop the playstation games on CD-RW's/ DVD-RW's. If that were possible, would that mean you could save your game file onto the disc instead of a memory card?

to do this would require great work on the unit and the disk, as well as the development of new technologies...ya see. for a unit to read a disc. it must be "finalized"...adn in the prosses of finalization on a cd -rw, regaurdles of room left ...would require to fill the remainder of the cd, with zeroses as to fill it...and thus once finalized no more data can be added, unless un finalized whic is un practical, considering the time it takes....to format un initilaive and re initialize, but i belive many are working on a web base method of saving games where a user saves game play and advance on the internet, which would be accesible form any console...

The PlayStation 3 will have a built in hard drive, that way you wont need memory cards!

You would need to modify the playstation not the discs.

you can but if the game needs you to save before playing, then you better find some other game to play because some games needs to be saved before playing
