You can get a gaming laptop, but know before you buy that it *will* become out of date faster than a desktop machine because laptops simply aren't as upgradable. As far as models, check out the link below and look around a bit. All of those machines are custom built to your specifications, so you can get what you need.

My laptop is almost top of the line. It's from Gateway. It's the NX260X. 2.00 Ghz Duo processor, 2.00 GBs of ram, 228 Mb of video ram, 80 GB hard drive, 14 in. LCD screen, integrated wireless, Ethernet, modem, and XP Media Center Edition.

I think it's awesome but it cost me about $1600 for the laptop. So you can decide if you want. Keep in mind I customized the hell out of mine.

I recommend you buy a laptop since you always travel. Dell XPS notebooks are the best but it cost 2,300 up. HP V3000T may cost 1,200 and within your budget but its screen size is only 14.1

I have both a laptop and a desktop
I really prefer my laptop.

It is in your price range, fast, wireless internet, good for school, good for games, good graphics.

Simple question to answer which I think you already did... if you travel a lot (and don't spend a lot of time at a desk) then guess what...

Think about what you do.

Are you highly mobile?

Are you stationary?

Perhaps the answer to these two questions will help you decide.

if i was you i would get a laptop, i would suggest that you get a dell vaoi. they are alsome, either that or an apple laptop.
