I found this statement in: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/anti-semitism/iranjews.html (last paragraph)
It is said that Jewish population was 100,000 in 1948 and
about 25,000 in 2004 in Iran.

Is it not strange, taking into account information of Israel about Iran?

http://www.bh.org.il/Communities/Archive/Teheran.asp states that:
"The Jewish population of Teheran in 1948 consisted of approximately 35,000 persons and constituted 37% of the total Jewish population of Iran. Although there was considerable emigration to Israel, the number remained stable, as Jews from the provinces migrated to the capital. [...] In 1970, 40,000 Jews (55% of the total Jewish population of Iran) lived in Teheran."

For Luckybeetle: I hope that will not happen. Could you indicate a link with photos, if this requirement is implemented in reality?
No signs of such in photos I saw, but it is an event inside: http://www.bh.org.il/Events/index.aspx

I don't understand your question. Why is it strange that there are Jews in Iran??

BTW, as of 2001, Iran had about 11,500 (down from 120,000 in 1974), not 25,000 as you report, and the number are shrinking there due to the intolerable situation.

I hope that the remaining Jews will move away, hopefully to Israel, the Jewish homeland.

Thats a good question.
I recall recently the president of Iran say they were going to make Jews start wearing a special badge like the Nazi did so they could be identified.
25,000 Jews in Iran I am surprised the Iranian religious powers have haven't killed them all off.

What's so strange about that?? Politics has nothing to do with da people. Iran unlike whats we hear about is a very free country. Jewish,Christians and Zoroastrians (Sorry for the spelling) all have seats in the parliment and live their lives like normal people.
