THAT IN THE MIDDLE OF WAR TIME, A JUDGE WOULD BAN THE WIRE TAPPING THAT OUR GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN USING TO KEEP THIS COUNTRY SAFE?

War is not here in the US, it is overseas. As for the threat of terrorists we have NEVER used wire tapping to actually track down terrorists.

What happened in Pakistan with that Rauf guy was he was already arrested for something, and while he was being held he made a call. Authorities in Pakistan somehow noticed he was making a call and then tracked that call to the UK which lead to 25 arrests.

And although the government does not give out any information they get from the people who are not terror suspects people just don't want their private calls to look like a massive chat room or a message board. There's nothing we can do about the feeling and along with never actually getting anyone the tapping did more bad than good in the end.

how has the wire-tapping kept us safe? it has not only broken many laws, but also imposed on our privacy, and done nothing to solve the problems with america. Bush should be impeached for allowing this to happen, as it is very illegal. he is in no way exempt from the law, or from the system of checks and balances set forth in the constitution. America is not necessarily in danger of a terrorist threat. Bush had the intelligence to stop 9/11, but did nothing to stop it. To solve the problem of security, all we need to do is
1: stop spending so much on defense.
2: put some of that money into airport security
3: put money into healthcare and education
4: decrease america's dependance on foreign oil so we wont have to go back into Iraq.
5: actually catch Osama bin laden instead of fighting a useless war in Iraq that has done nothing but cost america hundreds of billions of dollars, thousands of lives on both sides, and separated america from other nations.

now wire-tapping. how has this kept us safe? when has it once stopped a credible terrorist attack. not just some drunk guys talking about it, but people serious to do it? never.

When was war declared? I have yet to see anyone in congress push for that designation. Does "security" trump our basic constitutional freedoms? There are so many ways to legally wiretap, and yet, the current administration has ignored them. Do you want to have your life be an open book? To anyone? When did you vote to abridge the Constitution, I didn't. Everyone must be expected to follow the laws of this country or they become criminals, even those at the "top".

I am not. If we do dot learn to trust each other and back each other here in our own country then how do you expect us to back our troops and the cause to end terrorism and hate.
Our government wants us to think that we are against each other because of our choice of religion or because we have differnt skin color. If you want to promote more hate then go ahead and be outraged. I promote trust peace and respecting my neighbor even if i do not agree with them or you. No. One could have predicted this type of ruling from a judge appointed by Carter.

I have full expectations that this ruling will be overturned at the 6th Circuit.

do you feel that tapping will give them answers! and how can freedom be exchanged for wiretapping....... it is wiretapping today but what if they start bugging residences without our knowledge illegally? We need to improve security without disturbing the citizens! That is the freedom that America promises to all its citizens and all its citizens should get it!
