I do believe it contains a vast amount of information, but we must remember that everyday people like you and me add information to that site. I think we should go beyond that site to make sure our information is correct.

yes and no, it depends on what you are looking up.

for non-controversial topics, its about as good as any encyclopedia.

but controversial topics like religion, politics, abortion, and the like get a lot of arguments from people on the extreme sides of the issues. I wouldnt rely on them for 100% factual information, but it can give you a good overview of the topic and some links to more information.

As a student, I am going to say that I do not use Wikipedia as a researching source. Though some information may be correct, some information may be wrong. Wikipedia is a website that anyone can edit, delete, or add information. In Science Olympiad, we do a lot of research and most of the time we need reliable sources. Some information on that website can be way off. If you want to see interesting stuff on it, knock yourself out. But if you need information for school, you might have second thoughts before using Wikipedia's information.

it is pretty reliable and they try to check as much info as possible. they do prefer that people add their sources. i have found it very informatable and have added acouple of things myself.
