It is a spanish speaking country, Puerto Rico is not a state or a territory. It has a political treaty called Estado Libre Asociado since 1952 which the US government translates as Commonwealth. Puerto Rico has international representation and is considered a latin nation like any other.

No, Puerto Rico is what is called a protectorate--like Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. There has been a movement to make Puerto Rico a state, but the most recent election on that failed, as the non-state factions defeated the move.

It's a U.S. territroy. Meaning they arent' given the status of STATE yet, but at the same time, they have all the same rights as we do, such as the right to vote in elections. The U.S. owns Puerto Rico.

i think that the united states runs or owns it, puerto rico is not a state in the us.

If I remember right, Pietro Rico is a protectorate of the US just like American Samoa.
