Sure, the iPod is a cute and trendy gadget, but why settle? YOU wants it all: games, music, videos, e-books, and web access. Will the iPod do all this? Nope. But the PSP will! Read

Like the iPod, the PSP allows you to listen to music and watch videos. In fact, its video abilities are so good that Hollywood is actually selling Universal Media Disc (UMD) discs—the PSP format—specifically targeted to PSP owners. In addition to visual and audio entertainment, the PSP supports some excellent gameplay.

Design/Usability - IPOD IS FAR Better cause when apple makes a product, it’s almost guaranteed to be visually appealing and have a slick interface.

Music Experience:::::Technically speaking, the iPod beats the PSP when it comes to supported music formats, as shown in the following table.

That’s right! Apple didn’t include a power cord to go with your new iPod. To save money, you have to keep the device hooked up to your computer if you hope to get any power.

Accualy a good Ipod is $300. And the new soney PSP is $200. So I would go with the gaming, dvd's, music, and internet thats all packed into the psp. And the whole "I heard that music quality wasnt as good on the PSP" thing is no true either. It all depends on the quality of the song in the first place. Lower bitrate or a bad rip could all play into people thinking that the device itself is not as good as others.

Don't listen to soccerandlaxfan4life. PSP is waaaaaaaaaaay different to a Gameboy, because Gameboy graphics suck, and aren't even that fun to play. I really don't know which one you should get, though, sorry.

PSP is a gaming system with amazing graphics, and is a multimedia powerhouse. Apart from playing games, you can also look at photos, play music, watch videos (including movies, which you have to buy separately), and even connect to the internet wirelessly.

As for the iPod, it depends on which one you want. If you don't listen to a lot of music, and want something small, cheap and simple, get the iPod Shuffle. However, this hasn't got a screen, and therefore doesn't boast any features other than music. It's available in 512MB* and 1GB**. If you're looking for aesthetics, choose the iPod Nano. It's the most beautiful one on the iPod range. It's very small and thin (as thin as a pencil), and also shows the album art of the music you listen to. The other features are that you can look at photos, play some simple yet fun games (you can listen to music at the same time for most of them) and listen to podcasts. It's available in 1GB***, 2GB, and 4GB.I must warn you, though, there's been a case of severe marks appearing on the screens, and the cause for this is a lot of heat, because they have to fit a lot of stuff into such a small iPod. This is not the case for most iPod Nanos, but better safe than sorry, so unless you're willing to take a risk, don't buy it. If you want lots of features, get the iPod Video. This is the one I would choose, but the decision is really up to you. It has the same features as the Nano (except for size and heating up problem, it's a bit bigger, but the screen is proportionately big enough for your video needs). In addition to those features, you can also, obviously, play videos, including video podcasts, music videos, TV series and movies. Another feature included is that you can play audiobooks (you can work out what they are with common sense). It's available in 30GB**** and 60GB.

You decide, PSP or iPod.

*512MB = 150 songs
**1GB = 300 songs
***1GB = 300 songs/2,000 photos
****30GB = 10,000 songs/60,000 photos/150 hours of video
Work the others out for yourself.

The psp cuz it does everything the ipod does and more. The only con of buying a psp is that you need to buy a bigger a memory stick to do everything the psp is capeable of doing. And the memory sticks price starts to rise like the 8 gig stick is $1000.

the iPod is a fad. plus it sucks. plus it sucks. i said that twice didnt i? =) the PSP is not a fad, it is a blessing bestowed upon those worthy. =) ipod only has videos and music. boring... video ipod isnt much better. they're both a waste of money. plus they suck. the psp has alot more to offer, at a much more reasonable price. games, music, videos, movies, internet,GPS,pictures, game sharing, multiplayer capabilities, and soon a digital camera attachment, and it'll also interact with the ps3. the psp is everything in one package. they might as well make it a home appliance. sony is god. we should all make a shrine to sony. and the PSP, of course. it is everything u need, and alot more. plus i think they wanna also make a tv tuner application for it. get the psp, u'll love it like fat girl love cake.

Sony PSP is much better. The ipod may have alot of storage, but the memory card size is up to 4GB now. Plus you can do so much more with a PSP.

Well here's how i see it,

PSP:

Price Point: $250

Functions: Video (MPEG, MPEG4), Music (ATRAC, MP3, and something else), Games (UMD, Download-able games to your memory stick), Pictures (JPEG, BMP, practically everything), Mobile Web Browser (Certain PSP browser on new PSP Software)

I-Pod:

Price Point: Varies for 30GB video $287 - $289, for Nano about $189, for Shuffle $99.99

Functions (for the 30GB video it has the most): Music (close to all formats), Video (MPEG and MPEG4)

So yes, the Sony PSP is the better deal. In my opinion anyway.
