This year I am teaching 4th and 5th grade math and wanted my welcome bulletin board to be "fishy". I have a really cute border and desk tags to match. I am looking for a phrase I can use - I really want it to have something to do with math, but can refer to fish, ocean, sea, anything aquatic. Thanks!

Or something about fishing for students, winners, scholars, etc.

Refer to classroom as a fishpond.

Or possibly some play on the phrase "a whale of a tale".

Getting "hooked" on math.

Catch of the day.

And I like this verse ...

Enjoy thy stream, O harmless fish;
And when an angler for his dish,
Through gluttony's vile sin,
Attempts, the wretch, to pull thee out,
God give thee strength, O gentle trout,
To pull the rascal in!
~John Wolcot

Good luck with it!

My first thought is, if the school goes up to 5th grade (not 6th), you could play on the idea that the 5th graders are now the "big fish" of the school.

Also, "school" has two meanings, a fish meaning and the regular one. So you could play upon that pun - "Welcome back to 'school!'" or something like that.
