A "New York minute" is faster than a minute because it refers to how fast things move in the big city.

It's gibberish made up by people not from NY. Strange to treat the city as an adjective.

I find it odd, especially when people have "New York Style..whatever" descriptions of food on a menu - what the heck does that mean?
