I've receive throughout the past several months emails from people claiming to help, or give part of inheritance, but only to get bank account info so they can steal money from me I had no account info I could provide these vultures. Some months ago I found out through my own inquiry to US gov that thousands have been stolen from people. So please beware of these wicked people that will try to get your bank account info. I think if they get your bank acct no. and your bank routing number they can steal money that is in your account. I as a Christian feel it's my obligation to warn people. My most recent scam email I got today was from Yahoo address ending yahoo.co.uk and the subject line says "dear friend". These people are not your friend, they don't want to help you; they want what little money you do have in your bank account. Even a guy from a dating site offered to help me & send me money. He asked me to buy & send him a blank check. I was so upset & disappointed.

Umm, you are right. Without exaggeration, I receive five of these a week, sometimes that many in one day. They not only will then take your money from your account after you've foolishly given your information to them, but they also have used this to successful ends in identity theft.
The most recent one I received was not via email, it was actually at my Po Box mailing address. This one really upset me. I knew when I opened it , that it was a scam, but this time, I was really so hurt and upset I checked into every aspect of it.
I received a check, a real check, for $1,999.00 payable to me. There was a letter claiming my entry into the switzerland lottery was a third place winner of $65,000. This check was sent to me, via a financing to pay for the "taxes and costs" of the monies won and I should cash it and send them the money so they can pay off the small debt and then I will get my check for $65,000.
I called the bank the check was drawn on out of New York. The bank said the account number and amount were good. This did not surprise me as I know that checks are duplicated every day, by scam artists on company accounts. So, I checked out the company name on the check and called them to "insure that they had actually written the check." Well, not to my surprise, their company did not write the check, they are aware of this scam and the FBI is involved so that when you call the bank, they will verify the account is good, because the more they can get on these scam artists after taking advantage of many people the closer they can get to busting them.
I was really upset in the opening stage of this because of my money problems being so difficult right now. Somehow, I did have the "glimmer' of hope and faith that maybe, just maybe..........help has come.
While I knew otherwise, there's that faith, you know?
What bothers me most is that many people have fallen for not only the internet scams but also ones like my most recent and these people have no means of recovery. Their money is gone, and many times their identiy has been stolen. There were a set of people in the news actually some months ago, where one was murdered over such a scam, by the scam artists.................this has got to stop and people must ignore all these offers once and for all. "If it walks like a duck, and squacks like a duck, then it must be a duck."

nobody ever gets out for nought! Can you really imagine, any-one of these firms giving you anything for nothing !!!! It just does not happen They are all basically scams ,in order to get customers , signed up for whatever they are selling . JUST THINK , if someone had your address and wanted to give you huge sums of money , they would just put the cheque in the post to you Not mess about with " you have definitely WON" Do yourself a favour , delete ignore and bin them A lottery is another way of making money ... a few people do randomly win something , but the odds on winning are infinitesimally small . Depressing , ---------i really really would like a big win ! and HOW! ;o)

Yeah, they're nuts. The scam is known as a 419 crime. It mostly originates from Nigeria. They send millions of emails around the world. Some people actually buy into it and some of the scammers actually live quite well from it. check it out on google. Lots of info there on it.

Yes. I also have been getting the same emails now for two weeks. Supposely they want me to call them back so they can get some very personal information about me. But I erased all the messages because that is how identity theft get stolen in the world today.

Dear closest friend give me your bank info I swear I will deposit large amounts of money ROFL... yes... and all the time.. ALWAYS get them... but wow a dating site.. sorry hun! I don't know how to block those out without blocking your yahoo friends... I have it set up so my mail goes to bulk if its spam and I can check it to make sure none of my friends were filtered out.. Also you can put a filter on your email for certain words.

I get these all the time...
I first got one or two years ago. Then I put my email address on some web pages I made and I get these all the time now. It's crazy, what do these people think that I don't know it's something fake? I don't read them anymore - SPAM

I also receive "offers" of that kind every now and then. Of course, people whom you don't know are not likely to want to help you, even if they "offer something in return" for your possible help (like taking out "their" money-which "their parents, spouses or friends who past away kept in a bank"-from a country you are a citizen of).

I think everyone has received one of these at one time or another. Rule of thumb.....nothing is ever free, and if something seems to good to be true, then it likely is TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. Just delete the messages next time.
