PLEASE INFORM EVERYONE!!!!

Emails with pictures of Osama Bin-Laden hanged are being sent and the moment that you open these emails your computer will crash and you will not
be able to fix it!

If you get an email along the lines of "Osama Bin Laden Captured" or "Osama Hanged" don't open the attachment.

This e-mail is being distributed through countries around the globe, but mainly in the US and Israel.

You should be alert during the next days:
Do not open any message with an attached filed called "Invitation" regardless of who sent it.

It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch which "burns" the whole hard disc C of your computer.

If you receive a mail called "invitation", though sent by a friend, do not open it and shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN, it has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.

This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus.

This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.*

It may or may not be true, but assume it is and don't open any attachments from any unknown senders. That's just good computer-using sense.

Yes if the emails exist the attachment is certainly a virus. Do not download any attachment from someone you don't know.

I can't see why you would have to shut down your computer, you will be safe if you simply don't open it. Sounds like whoever wrote this is exaggerating.

Of course it's not true. It's an old hoax where an email tried to get you to open a page where you might download a virus if you clicked a certain link.

But even without going to snopes, this one has some clues...
"The virus destroys the zero sector of the hard disk..." Sorry kids, there is no such thing as a zero sector. What else? McAfee found it yesterday (no date, just yesterday) but has no cure? Not likely. Worst ever per CNN (then why didn't we see it on the news) and last I knew Microsoft wasn't classifying viruses.

www.snopes.com does a good job of telling you what is, and isn't, bogus.

I never open an email unless I know the person that sent it even then you have to be wary.
addition.
I must admit with all those warnings you have given I'm really tempted to open it to see what it does, after years and years of both building computers and using them online I have never once found a virus that has done any real damage to any computer I have owned after all everything is recoverable.

I never, never open e-mail I am not familiar with. Many times things forwarded to me by e-mail buddies I never open, especially things with attachments.
Thanks for the heads up!!
