No. Haven't you ever had to deal with that one fly that showed up in August and stuck around till November? Happens all the time to me. I did learn on Yahoo tho, those fruit flies only need a 1/2 cup of vinegar left on the counter to take care of them and it worked.

fish flies only live for 24 hours i am not sure of any other types though.

Most flies live two weeks or more and some do winter over and live just to ensure there fowl and disgusting existence goes on and on forever
