I don't give college football a secodn thought at all but I think you get people who hate winners and people who like them. There are very few teams in history that are universally loved.

I'm sure George W. and Kennedy being assassinated in Texas has a lot to do with it. The people in Texas I've found are great, the food is tremendous from steak thru Mexican fare, Austin has a great music scene and San Antonio is a beautiful city so I have no clue. I say visit Texas and then form an opinion.

Why? look at the answer Frank S gave.

Alot of people have a bad view of Texas because there is a general view (wheather or not it is true) that Texans think they are better than everyone else.

I am from Oklahoma and some of our favorite sayings is Tuck Fexas or Tex-@ss (but it is all in good fun and a little state rivalry)

Maybe because Bush is from Texas and he is an idiot. I love Texas otherwise. I back the Dixie Chicks when they said they were embarassed to be from the same state as Bush.

TX people that I know are just annoying. They think they are the best state....and the "Don't Mess with Texas" thing is incredibly annoying, especially considering none of the people who say that all the time, or wear the shirts with it even know where that motto came from...It was an anti-litering campaign..the state wanted people to stop polluting the state with trash..hence don't MESS with Texas...

Beautiful states but a lot of people see them as too religious and conservative. Also, you have the Mormons in Utah and Bush from Texas, both of which are unpopular with a lot of people.

I love Texas - the state and the university. Hook Em Horns!

People probably hate it because they know nothing about it and have never actually visited or lived there. They probably still think that Texas is full of cowboys and cattle.
