my best friend of 30 years has 2 sons ages 14 and 16. they are very heavy into drugs and alcohol. their mother says she doesn't know what to do. who can i tell? i'm very worried about this situation. when i was 18 my best friend died of a drug over dose. my friend just gets mad at them when she finds pot or bottles in their room. that's all she does. something has to be done.

If your a friend, I would report it to the police, some parents are afraid to do this for fear that their kid will hate them, your friend may get mad at you, but trust me in the long run they will be happy and respect you for helping them, and helping with her kids...sounds like she doesn't care as much as you, or she would get help for her own kids...but sometimes that is a scary postion to be in, and she may not know how to get the help. But someone needs to help these kids.....or they will be taken from your lives and/or they might end up taken someone elses.

Call a local youth drug treatment program. It will still take your friend to make them go but maybe if she has options she will take them. The counselors there may have some suggestions for you. Sorry about your friend.

Bust the 2 kids and give them a much needed reality check by having them be processed under law. Ya it's mean but so is not listening to and respecting your mommy.

Carry them to the police station or to a health clinic and let them show them what happens to people who do drugs.

Call the police on them and your friend. You're friend is probably using with them.
