well, its not a question about being hungry. the main reason that mice eat so much is because their teeth are constintally growing, and need to be filed down on a regular basis or else they will grow over the lower jaw, and close the jaw shut.

Hi from Valerie in Australia.
Mice being little animals should have a bowl of bird seeds in a bowl for them to eat at will, plus enough water in a dispenser to drink, because without water they will die quickly. Leave a nice roll of bread for them they love that, and some carrot, or lettuce. a dogs bone is fine also,mice will eat a variety of foods, they just LOVE wholemeal bread & biscuits that dogs love, an apple would be fine also, then you have no wories, how long can ghey go without food, debatable, I would say 48 hours at the most. They have a high metabolism, and stress badly without food of any kind.
Anyway so long as you leave some nice feed for them + WATER they should be fine. If you have a CAT make sure there are clips on each of their cage doors to stop a cat making a meal of them whilst you are not in.

Well they can live up to about 4 days without any food at all. But I wouldn't try it...that's mean.
