AL MVP: Hands down, Jeter! Ortiz puts up a fight because he's clutch... but last time i checked so is Jeter.
NL MVP: Pujols. There's noboby to rob him this year... wait maybe Howard.
AL ROY: Got Melky? Cabrera is 1 of the reasons why the Yankees didn't lose sight of the Red Sox. Other reasons- Jeter & Wang.
NL ROY: Zimmerman. Good hitter & great defense.
AL CY: Wang. Not a lot of K's but he gets the job done and gives his team a chance to win everytime he pitches.
NL CY: Penny or Webb. Either 1 could get it, it just comes down to whos team makes the playoffs... (If Pedro didn't get so many 'no decisions' in the begining of the year, I would say he deserves it.)
AL CPOTY: Has to be Thome.
NL CPOTY: No question, Beltran.

If I was one of the sport writers voting for these categories, then I would put the following:

AL MVP: David Ortiz - Regardless if he plays DH or not, Ortiz is the premier clutch hitter and that what franchise players are suppose to do and that's what MVP stands for, no matter what position or the place of the team is. Basically, he's top 10 in almost every slugging category and his team is making a run at first place and that what I look for in an MVP, someone who can carry the team.

NL MVP: Alfonso Soriano - I know it far fetch to pick a player that's not on a winning team, but he proves to be valuable to Washington, whether the team likes it or not. Sure, he plays in an last place team, but don't forget that A-Rod won his MVP in his last year at Texas, when they were in last place. It's not always about a winning record but who proves to be a impact player.

AL Rookie of the Year: Jonathan Papelbon - Sure, Verlander, Liriano and Weaver could make a run at this award, but this Boston closer has been consistent from Day 1 and never relinquish his role in the most pressure-filled position in the most unforgiving city in baseball. With an ERA under 1.00, Papelbon is starting to show why Boston refuse to trade him in the past and more.

NL Rookie of the Year: Hanley Ramirez - Sure Uggla would get my vote, but this former Boston prospect is showing why the team let Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell go to beantown in the first place. With an unbelievable speed and pop, Ramirez is turning out to be the premier leadoff man in an rebuilding team that could contend for the World Series in a few years.

AL Cy Young Winner : Johan Santana - Liriano would get my vote if he hadn't gone down, but this ace is truly the most dominant pitcher in the league, having multiple double-digit strikeout games while having the most quality starts in the league. Having lead the league in strikeout and top 10 in Wins, he is the best overall pitcher anyone should have.

NL Cy Young Winner: Carlos Zambrano - All the talks have been about Prior and Wood, but the Cubbies always seem to forget about the third "ace" on the team and he has flourish on a team that's just overrated. Sure, the walk rate hurts a lot but he has been dominant in occasinal games and getting the K's is important. Chris Carpenter had his chance, so why not this Cub?

AL Comeback Player of the Year: Jim Thome - Philadelphia left him for dead and the Sox are benefiting from his remergence, showing people he's not an injury-prone player and still can kill balls in the AL, making them contenders to repeat as champs.

NL Comeback Player of the Year: Carlos Beltran - After having his worst season as a pro, he finally emerge as an MVP candidate and proving to be the valuable piece in a deep New York lineup that going to break Atlanta 15 year streak at first place.

AL Rolaid Relief Award (Best Reliever): Jonathan Papelbon (see above)

NL Rolaid Relief Award: Billy Wagner - Also a key component of the Mets success, he's not showing his age one bit and showing why he's the best reliever in baseball.

Hank Aaron Award (Best Batter): David Ortiz (see above)
