If you look good on the outside it makes you feel better on the inside . It raises your self esteem.

It is all mental and about self esteem we build self esteem throughout life I mean you get more bees with honey and the prettiest packaged present is always the most desired So I guess if you allow yourself to be reeled into the world's idea of "the beatuiful people " you are only robbing urself of the person you are inside.... when i was younger i put alot of emphasis on looks but now being older and wiser I have come to relize beauty is only skin deep

I don't know if it's the process... the steps you take to make yourself presentable... or the end result of knowing you've put your best foot forward that makes the difference. I used to think my mother had lost her mind when she'd say "Put on some lipstick, you'll feel better." Even when I was going through chemo for cancer I'd put on lipstick! *L* Must be something to it. The hospital where I received treatment does a class called "Look Good, Feel Better" for cancer patients and everyone loves it.

It's natural for human being to feel that way. It's natural!

Our desire for physical beauty is an original human feeling, like the desire for food, nurturing, or happiness. Just as those other things drive us toward survival, physical beauty is programmed into our brains as a means of staying alive and furthering our family line. After all, if males and females weren’t attracted to each other, none of us would even be here: humankind would be a fatally flawed experiment.

well looking good, makes you feel comfortable and good. It gives you an air of confidence and boosts the representation of yourself to others. Thus, looking well dressed, hair well groomed, shoes polished, nails trimmed and manicured, etc etc. give a pleasant look . All you need next is a smile and a nice morning Greeting to top it all up!

If you make an effort to improve your appearance, you have invested time in developing confidence about your image. You have spent time grooming, and in the process you have brought out your best physical qualities and amplified them.
So, if you look good, then you also FEEL good!

because being perceived by others as "something" nice, in a kind of reverse rapport, affects your own perception of the things around you.
see neurolinguistic prog for more details, but the principle es quite simple, indeed.
in fact, if a beautiful person is told that he or she is not well presented, by "everybody" in a controlled environment, the person will feel the opposite.
this principle works for team work, with pretty obvious results.

You don't have to look good to feel good. You just have to think you look good and you feel good!

When you look good, you feel better about yourself.
When you look good, other people treat you better.
When you are dirty or look like a bum, a Goth, or an emo, or some other kind of freak, people are turned off.
