I'd suggest the wallpaper sections from the download areas of 'cnet.com' or 'zdnet.com' that you you avoid excess cookies, spyware, and such. Another way is to take your digital camera and resize your own photos to your screen's resolution, open them in your web browser, and save them as your wallpaper. Then you get more of a personal feel and get to see what you want.

webshots offers free downloads. The photos are contributed by professionals as well as amateurs like me. Their collection is searchable. I prefer this over using the broader search capacity of google images if I'm searching for scenery, etc.

Just go to yahoo pictures and search for one. Sometime if you go to those downloading desktop background sites, you get infected with spyware.

Go to Google.com, choose the Images tab, and search for nature. Click on any picture you like, view the full-size image, then right click and save to your computer, and use as your wallpaper.

I have scenes of snow, rivers, trees and the like. Anything that makes me feel "cool" in this heat.
