dont worry about the height! youre fine. im the same height as you but when i take pictures even my agents swear on loui's that im 5'9

definately you have to be able to work hard and take the crap. they are going to criticize you at times, but you have to remember that no worries, theyre doing it to make you tough, and see how you are under pressure. try it! youre not stuck if you hate it:-)

Anyone can be a model as long as they have the right attitude, measurements are not set in stone people look for a unique look not just a few numbers. If you are happy with the work, and don't expect overnight success, you will be fine. If you are actually thinking about it here is some advise.

I have heard a lot of bad thing about SOME (not all) modelling agencies and how they make you pay for photos and photo sessions before they take you on then never give you any work. Always check with the local Better Business Bureau in teh US or Trading Standards in the Uk or Similar organisation elsewhere.

I think a better starting place before you go to agencies is if you have a friend who is reasonable with a camera (do not have to be a professional or even that good just okay) Just take 100 photos of yourself in different poses, clothing and backgrounds then pick out 10-20 nice photos. You can then use this as a portfolio, and even better instead of printing them which cost you money every time, host them on a website and get some business cards print with the website address on and just hand these out instead. This is a far cheaper way of doing it and with no RISK. You should never have to pay to get a job if you do there is a high chance it is a scam.

However if you would like a personal portfolio site please contact me and I will set you on up for free. I can design you a fully personalised flash website with as much or little information and then host it for you. This site can contain a gallery of your photos, personal information, list of work, contact details, etc or if you prefer just a couple of photos and nothing else. It can be password protected and all images will be protected as is humanly possible, or the photos can be available to download.

Examples of work can be provided on request. Just message me here if you want, I am a professional website designer but have lots of free time (and enough money) so I am currently doing free sites for small bands, small artist etc, basically anyone who could not afford them otherwise. I have my own hosting server so can offer hosting servers or you can host the site yourselves. No images sent to me will be used for anything other than your site and I will not give anyone your detail or link to the site. You will have complete control and the site can be removed or changed at any time. This is not a scam and I will design a site for FREE, I do not need the money, and enjoy working. If you do want it message me you can tell me what you want and how you want it done and I will help.

Depending how old you are I may require parents permission before i will do any work.

A good figure, nice bone structure , like face. Be photogenic. Be highly motivated. Training of course. And willing to live a very difficult, demanding, harder working and no sense of time as you work. Willing to take criticizing in a positive way and eating a right diet which is 6 small meals a day so your metabolism will work fast and this way no added weight, lots of water and no sodas. And don't forget,to exercise. No smoking,no drinking,no drugs and you will have a longer life as a model. It isn't a long career,so save and connect so you may later work with them as a trainer or something else in this industry. If this is what you wish, Just remember that it is a demanding and jealous job. It will ask of you more than you can think. On the other hand it is very rewarding for those who toll the line.
Good luck and best wishes, should you go for it.
If you are very good at it,you could stay as a model for the future older generation. Something we are missing now days.

I know! I'm told all the time I should be a model! But i'm
5ft 9in and 13 years old. It gets really annoying. Like one time I was at a garage sale and this guy came up to me and said "You should be a model." But anyways the buisness of modeling is totally about looks, posture, elegance, and grace. You have to be able to take criticizm well and not be bugged by a ton of people telling you how to dress and what way to do your hair. So basically if your pretty and some-what tall you can be a model. Unless of course you can't do the cat-walk... :P

It doesn't take much to be a add or regional model, you just have to be thin, tall, and pretty. Fitting in clothing well is important too. If your legs are too long for your torso, or you lack curves, you won't fit in clothing you have to model. All you need is an agency, professionally done pictures, and transportation to the various jobs. You will need a couple thousand to get started, but really, if you want to do this and think you can, go for it.

You have to be freaking perfect! Flaws are unacceptable amongst models. That's how they are meant to be: living dolls.
