Go eat something and buy the patch or some gum?

Drink more water - that's an odd way to stop smoking, but if that's what you want to do to get the nocotine out of your system, then woot for you!

Try going some place where your sister isn't. If she can't take your attempt seriously, then she doesn't need your company. Trying to get off of a habit like that should be encouraged, not mocked.

You likely feel crummy because your body is used to having nicotine by now, not because of the fast. Drink more water and 100% juice (make sure to check the ingredients! Sometimes they say it's 100% juice, then you find out otherwise when looking at the ingredients. In these cases, organic is sometimes the preferable choice.)

Good luck with kicking the addiction to the curb.

It won't last. Our bodies need food and when you are trying to stop something, like smoking, your brain will need the extra power. I would go get a patch or some of the Nicotine gum at the store if you want something that will be good for the right now. if you are trying to stop and you are having trouble, go see your doctor and see if they can put you on a med. called Wellbutrine (spelling might be off). It has something in the medicine that will go to the same part of your brain that the nicotine is stored and it will help you with the cravings. Also, I have been hearing on the radio about a company that does some kind of shots to help with smoking. Do some research on line or ask your doctor about it. It might work for you and then you can eat!

Do one or the other, but a regular fast is not a bad idea. It doesn't sound like a good way to stop smoking though, as you're depriving yourself in two areas, which will make each one of them a great effort than either by itself. A 24 hour fast won't hurt you, although I suggest you drink lots of fluids during the fast. You can get by with water alone for 24 hours but if you go any longer, be sure to drink fruit juices and other nutritive drinks, as you'll need the strength. As for your sister teasing you about, ask her if she has the will to do it and challenge her to do it with you. If she can't or won't , you can feel superior when you succeed!
Cheers!

P.S. (about 2 days later): are you still fasting?

Many people benefit from fasting, and do it for different reasons. If you are unaccustomed to fasting, would limit the time of the fast to 24 hours. And would not recommend a fast that lasts more than three days. Fasting however increases your need for fluids, so make sure you drink lots of water during your fast.
Good luck in your smoking cessation efforts.

Drinking more water should satisfy you and keep your mind off food. Do your best to find the best juices, but they should be 100% all natural ( no sugar added ) or organic, those are some of the best choices. Don't worry about the price, your health is worth more than money.

I've never heard of that approach to quitting smoking. Food is usually the replacement of smoking. Good luck with that.

If you have pledged a certain number of hours of fasting to a charity or to your church, try to stay strong. If you are fasting just to quit smoking, then go ahead and stop. There are better methods for quitting.
