Let's say that THIS time you have sex you're gonna get pregnant. How long after actually HAVING sex does it take for a sperm to fertilize an egg? I know it takes alot longer for a positive result to show up...but I want to know how long it takes for a sperm to meet and fertilize an egg. I heard somewhere you can get pregnant even two days after you last had sex....?

Given ideal conditions, sperm can even live up to 5 days waiting for the egg to release. It's somewhat less a matter of how long it takes the sperm to get to the egg as it is a matter of how soon prior to ovulation was the sex in question. Yes, conception could easily take place 2 days after your have sex; implantation, which is the medical definition of pregnancy takes place 6-12 days after that.

it depends on ur ovulation status also
