People are telling me that Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Billups, and several other players are better than Mr. Wade, and others are saying the only reason why is rep. is up so high is because of Shaq.

Do you agree why? or why not?

When it mattered the most, Dwayne Wade was the best player, and if it weren't for his heroics in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Mark Cuban would be dancing in the streets in Big D right now celebrating a championship. For those who make the argument that he owe's a great deal of his success to Shaq, that's true, but it also then holds true for those who think Kobe is the best player. Has Kobe ever won a title without Shaq at his side...NO!! So how can you say Kobe is better then Wade?? The only other player you could make an argument for is Lebron James. I think a huge rivalry is looming in the eastern conference for the next decade between D-Wade and King James.

No, I do not think he is the best player in the NBA. I think he's a legitimate all-star, and is in the upper echelon of players, but his defensive game isn't strong enough for me to say he's the best. To be worthy of that label, he'll have to dominate on both ends of the court. Also, the Shaq factor cannot be denied. In the Finals, the Mavs were more concerned with doubling Shaq than Wade. If you think back to Shaq's last season as a Laker, the Pistons knew that they needed to stop Kobe if they had any chance of winning. Wade doesn't demand that type of respect yet. Also, Wade is very stoppable. If you go thru his game log, you'll notice lots of games where he was held to under 20 points. In about 8 of those games, he was held to 15 points or below. So, for now, I can't reach that high and say that Wade is the best.

Wade belongs to the best and most talented team this year in the NBA.. But he cannot be nominated in the category as the best player.. Maybe if he plays a whole season where the opposing teams defense is focused entirely on stopping him and still put up big numbers and win night in and night out, ill change my mind..

But for now Kobe and James are tied at the top, with Kobe much regarded as the bad guy and James the good guy.. Much like MJ and Magic before Jordan got his first 3-peat.. History does repeat itself..

I don't think so he is a very good team player. But the if you're asking who's the best individual nba player it would have to be lebron james. He rebounds, makes steals, dishes out assist with a great assist to turnover ratio. He also scores at will. And at the moment his better than jordan was at his age. of couse he hasn't accomplished what Jordan did but what was jordan doing at the age of 21 he only won 38 games and avergaed 22.7 points, 2.9 assists, and 3.6 rebounds

yes i agree with their statements. D wade is a very good player but he gets so many calls his way. Almost everyone hates him because of that. Every time he gets touched he flops!!!! Just watch. I read an interview once when he even said that he is fouled almost everytime he has the ball wtf!!! what does he do that makes him better than everyone else. Oh yeah he is with Shaq. I can't stand watching the NBA with their new rules of Stars get everything. I thought the Pistons changed that but that only lasted for a year...

The only one I would say is better in Lebron, going by stats anyway. But the Heat were dead until Wade was not sick anymore and he was unstoppable and he has half the Shaq Kobe had.

Not yet. He has a lot of holes to his game still. He can't shoot a lick from the outside. Shot only 17% from the three point arc last season. And, he turns the ball over like crazy! A great player and will get better, but I wouldn't dub him the best player in the league just yet.

I think hes one of the best, but not THE best
He can do only so many things well, and the outstanding things he does are play defense, score, and pass, not to mention play through clutch.
Thats a pretty good resume, but there are other players who can play through clutch almost just as well, and most are unproven in that category because of they are unproven. So he's definitely one of the best, but needs to work on his turnovers and rebounding
if he can improve those, he'll be THE number one in the NBA
