I bought a veus fly trap about 2 weeks ago and it looked good but now it's traps are turning black? I keep it watered, i let it get some sun, but not direct sunlight. Is there anything more I should be doing or anything i am doing wrong?

Howdy!
I just read on:

www.bugbitingplants.com

that just because the leaves are turning black your venus fly trap may not be dead. They grow from BULBS so there is still hope for your plant.

Handling them too much stresses them out (poor darlings!) so try to avoid touching their leaves.

They need at LEAST 50% humidity in the air, too, so if you don't have them in a terrarium, you might want to consider getting one unless you live in a really humid area of the country like Florida. A covered goldfish bowl would probably do.

There are all sorts of meat eating plants out there and I thought the site I first mentioned was really informative. Hope it helps!

SMILE!

Catch some live flies for it, or feed it really small pieces of hotdogs. My sister has a venus fly trap, and we catch a horsefly in a big jar, then put the jar upside down over the plant. The fly buzzes around in there until eventually he gets caught by the plant. Then we take the jar off again. Your plant needs at least one fly every week if it's still a little plant.

Venus fly traps need a very humid environment, try putting it in a terrarium or other enclosed container, no direct sunlight.

It's dead. Those are not easy plants to grow. They need steady temperature and humidity. They don't like to be repotted and really, they aren't for beginners. I read about them on the internet and decided that I (a very big plant buff) cannot even attempt to keep one alive.

dont expose it to direct sunlight..it takes nutrition from insect juice and not anything else..it originally grows in darker areas of forests

Why don't you try to feed it with flies?
