I've noticed a trend on the jobs that I work. It doesn't matter how much you pay most people, they still do not want to work? All they want to do is find a way to be comfortable for 8 hours, and try to make it look like the company is the bad guy that is always trying to get over.

If what you say is true then you have worked in dying companies, and when a recession or depression comes those people will be in the soup-line.

I have had the opportunity of working with several start-up companies and of giving my best as a part of a team that gives their best. It is one of the greatest experiences I have ever known.

I have heard that in the real world you are lucky if one or two other people at a job are motivated, and hard-working. Thats pathetic. If I were paying them out of my pocket, I would fire them instead of hiring income-toilets.

The function of EVERY employee in a company is to bring worth into the company. If the company takes away exactly as much worth as they bring in, they are not worth having. The administrative overhead makes their net worth to the company negative. The best employee is one who brings in to the company 100+ times the worth that they take out. That will be the first employee promoted, and reproduced and the last employee fired. Thats the kind of employee that I wouldnt mind paying out of my pocket to keep.

I show up and collect a paycheck. Not because I'm lazy, but because this isn't an especially busy position. In the work week (37.5 hours) I work (during the average week) probably about 10 hours total. There are some exceptions...sometimes I work more, sometimes less.

I'm paid quite well, and this bothered me when I first started here. I sat back and realized...You know, they hired ME knowing the job wouldn't be that busy. They know what's going on. I shouldn't feel bad. So I don't. :)

Most people want to do as little as possible and get paid as much as they can. Unfortunately, the work ethic is horrible where I live(Arizona) I work with lazy, complacent, stupid people who pick and choose what they want to do each day. Its annoying and I hate it, but I like my job.

If you're a liberal democrat, you believe you're entitled to be paid for just your presence.
If you're a conservative you believe in working for a living.
